PLEASE FORGIVE THE MESS while this weebly site is in progress!
So you say you like art...
I love playing with different mediums. The more the merrier I always say! I am fascinated by new techniques and supplies and I often will purchase a new medium simply to see what I can do with it. I love mixing medias and techniques as well. As a matter of fact, most of the art I create often uses several differing techniques and mediums. I think that is why many of the art forms I am drawn to use multiple media techniques and supplies. The result of this penchant for meshing media? I play with sugar. I play with dolls. I play with fabric, clay, wood, plastic and paints and a plethora of other stuff. And, you know what? I generally have loads of adventurous fun while doing it.
Like most artist,s I have been creating art since I was very young and even started selling my work at a young age. I believe 14 was when I began to sell my artistic talents out to interested patrons. To be sure, since that time I have struggled & matured artistically and have also broken through the bonds of perfectionism to where I am currently creating art in a more relaxed harmonious manner. Not that I don't still often strive for perfection but age has somewhat mellowed the desire to create art that is just so-- now I create art that is mostly 'just right... at least that is what I tell myself.
I also have to confess something. Even though my penchant for mixing tech and media often creates some fabulous art pieces-- it is somewhat problematic when creating an actual piece of art-- the reality is I regularly get stymied pondering what technique or media would be best to use in an art piece!
Another confession (not about blockage but more about freedom): I love creating from almost every art-form under the sun. I've created logos, jewelry from silver art-clay, unique fabric dolls, stationary & paper goods, mixed media paintings, screen printed images, stickers, sculptures, miniatures, children's clothing and much, much more. I also have every intention creating further and my heart fills with enthusiasm and joy when I consider the future of playing with art. Chances are when I play it will be with multiple tools too!
