So far this blog has been filled with doll and doll related commentary. I can promise (or threaten depending how you look at it) that will not always be the case. But it just appears that recently dolls and related topics are what I have time to indulge in. Of course, with Halloween coming up there will be the requisite costuming posts, what I did (or thought I would do) and related confectionery (yes, sugar will somehow figure into this spooky equation) but for now the posting will still center on dolls. I mean, c'mon, it can't be all that bad can it? Oh, wait. I suppose that does depend on your point of view. You could be one of thousands that suffer from pediophobia and much of what I have written so far causes you to cry softly into your pillow at night while you whisper into your teddy bear's ruff, "There's no such thing as monsters, there's no such thing as monsters!" Of course you would be given extra points for mimicking the cowardly lion in your fearful maundering; yet, needless to say, so far these posts may not be for you. Then again, for those of you enamored of dolls and their related topics, the next few posts may be just what the doctor ordered. (Of course your doctor would have to be a dolly doctor to prescribe a doll related blog for what ails ya but stranger things have happened!) Fictional Doctor's directive: "Take two doll blog posts and call me in the morning!" If only it were that easy! And because I cannot resist... Fictional Patient's response: "Sure thing doc! But, where do I take 'em?" | Anyhow. I digress. So what are my plans for this blog through the incoming weeks? Hopefully, I am not being too ambitious in wanting to add some lovely tutorials from household ephemera/discard for your small and tiny dolls. Also I want to focus the spotlight on great dolly finds online that I have come across. Some spotlight-finds will be fabulous tutorials that I will walk you through with my own examples while others will be just neat scaled items that you can purchase for your small doll's home or closet. With Halloween coming up the focus will be Autumn and the Spooky season. So look for much to engage your pumpkin-pie-eyed senses in the coming weeks! I also plan to get into an easy habit of posting updates once a week (most likely Fridays) with an occasional midweek post if something warrants comment. (Like 'Hello Kitty' going into rehab for the umpteenth time-- that girl really has to lay off the catnip!) Of course other Holiday posts will be required as well. I do not mean just the major sanctioned holidays either-- Pi Day, Towel Day and TLAPD (Talk Like a Pirate Day) will be some of the off-the-beaten path holidays I intend to honor on this blog with a relevant post. Relevant and quite possibly irreverent but mostly I am aiming for relevant. If I miss relevant and skirt irreverent I can only hope it will be a nice skirt of at least apropos length. Will it all be fun and worth visiting this blog? I can't promise anything but I can sure hope that each post will have something worth coming back for! (Even if your only reason to come back is to point out how bad a blog post was made, at least you came back, right? *insert nefarious laugh here*) So, hope to see you again! Light, love and laughter to you all! |
